This project is one of our Oakland studio's favorite makeovers as we took a path less traveled to create unique design solutions to maximize the space. As this cozy home was getting too crowded and lacking space, we allowed our creative juices to flow and decided to dig out the basement. The result is a beautiful, spacious home that caters to the needs of all the family members. We used the client's heirloom quilt as inspiration and planned the color scheme around it. In the living room, we used a teal and gold theme, whereas the laundry room got a bright pop of fuschia. We repeated color schemes in the principal bedroom, the kitchen, and the pantry area. The bathroom was beautified with river rock flooring, a free-standing tub, dual vanity, and a steam shower. In the son's bedroom, we created a functional upgrade with a cheerful orange palette, custom built-in storage above, and a beautiful study desk. Bright patterns, textures, and colors create a fun, cheerful ambiance in this beautiful home.
